Privacy policy
In short
Your recipes are stored on your phone. Screenshots and text you share to the app are sent to our server to be read with AI, and are not kept there afterwards. If you sign in, a copy of your cookbook is kept in your account so it is not lost and appears on all your devices. The app has no ads and no tracking.

What leaves your phone
When you add a recipe, the screenshots or text are sent to our server, which passes them on to Anthropic (Claude) to be read. The server does not keep or log the images or text after reading them. Anthropic processes them on our behalf in the USA under the EU standard contractual clauses and does not use them to train its models.
An id for the app
The app creates a random id that cannot be linked to you. It is used to count how many recipes have been read this month (the free allowance) and to link a subscription to the app. The counter holds only the id and a number and is cleared every month.
When you share a recipe with a friend
If you share a recipe or a collection as a link, the recipes are kept on our server for 30 days so that the link works. The picture is included only for recipes you wrote yourself and for suggestions from the app; an imported recipe shows where it came from instead. The page is not indexed by search engines. After that, everything is deleted automatically.
If you sign in
An account is optional. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account id from them and, if you allow it, your email address. Your cookbook (recipes, pictures, collections, shopping lists and the book’s name and style) is then stored on our server in the EU, linked to the account, so it can sync between your devices and is not lost with your phone. No one else can see it. You can delete the account in the app under Your cookbook; the account and everything in it is then erased from the server at once. The cookbook on your phone stays.
Purchases
Subscriptions are bought through the App Store or Google Play. We never see your payment details. RevenueCat helps us check whether the app’s id has an active subscription.
Your rights
Without an account, everything is on your phone and is removed when you delete the app. With an account, you can delete it in the app at any time. To find out what we hold about you, get a copy or have it deleted, write to kontakt@upptacknu.se. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
